Diabetes Clinics in Pohnpei's Rural Dispensaries

the volunteering team and Pohnpei public health assistants

From October 31 to November 11, Dr. Joel Massey and Tina Heinrich, PA, along with other MAHI International volunteers were in Micronesia to conduct diabetes clinics throughout the rural areas of Pohnpei at the public health dispensaries. The purpose of the medical mission was to screen new patients for non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. In addition, they worked alongside the public health assistants to provide appropriate treatment plans for diabetes and hypertension management. By the end of the week, over 150 patients were seen and treated, and provided with healthy lifestyle education. Thank you for supporting MAHI International so we can provide these services to the island communities of Micronesia!
